Tolga
Tolga was previously called Martintown and renamed in 1903 when the railway opened. An early hotel was Rogans which was a coach stop for the stage coaches. Barney Hayes built the Martintown Hotel in 1901. Tom Reddan built the Commercial Hotel in 1908. This hotel destroyed by fire in February 1928. The Kureen Hotel was moved to the site to replace it. Renamed Tolga Hotel when H Gannon licencee. The two story Family Hotel was built by Martin Brothers opposite the railway station. Other hotels were the Railway and the Royal which burned down in 1917.
